Opportunity to support the local NHS this winter
The local NHS is on the hunt for new volunteers living in Essex to be part of a team that will make a massive difference at local hospitals this winter.
Several different roles are on offer, with volunteers asked to commit just four hours a month. Full training is given and travel expenses are covered as well.
Dr Ronan Fenton, Medical Director for the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System said: “Volunteers already play such a crucial role to support local people. One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time. This is a great opportunity to give something back to the NHS and join our team. By carrying out these roles, you’ll be supporting local staff and boosting your NHS in a big way”.
Roles include ‘befrienders’ that can change patient lives both at hospital and at home. Volunteers might also be assisting as a mealtime companion, a catering runner or a ward runner.
